Custom Email Provider

Sprintful enables you to send notification emails from your own email service (i.e. on new bookings, emails will be sent out from @yourdomain.com rather than @sprintful.com). If you are having trouble with your settings, skip to the section " Diagnose Your Settings".

Enable the Service

This setting is per-booking page. To enable it, edit your booking page and navigate to the "Notifications" panel. From there, under "Advanced settings", find "Email settings" and click on "Configure".

If you would like to enable custom service provider, choose the option from the screen, and type in your SMTP details. If you do not have these details ready, please consult your IT admin.

Diagnose Your Settings

There are three things you need to do, or know, on how to diagnose your SMTP settings.

1. Test your credentials using a SMTP tester
Services like this (not an endorsement) offer on-line SMTP testing, which gives you easier diagnosis for what's wrong by showing any errors related to hostname/port/username/password. There are plenty of other similar services if you Google "smtp online test".

2. If you're using Gmail and Outlook...
Most of the times (not all the time), you cannot use your regular username/password for Gmail and Outlook. This is a security feature within Gmail/Outlook that prevents users from entering their credentials in 3rd party applications. Instead, you can either (a) enable " less secure apps", or (b) configure a 3rd party email provider (see step #3).

3. Consider 3rd party email providers...
There are external services such as Mailgun, Postmark, Sendgrid, AWS SES, and others who provide you with a SMTP hostname/username/password to be used in different applications, including Sprintful. To use these services, you will need to configure your DNS settings (SPF records, DKIM, etc).

Note that the setup of your SMTP differs from one environment to another, and is a question that is not related to Sprintful itself. If you require more support, it is best to consult your IT admin as it is out of scope of this support article at this point.
